Long Range/Precision Rifle Operations
Directed by Operational Snipers with Real World Experience!
For the second time this year, we are running our Long Range/Precision Rifle course in December of 2023! Smash some steel target 1,000 yards away in the beautiful mountains of wild, wonderful West Virginia. This course is ideal for the tactical long-range marksman as well as the long-range rifle hunter or PRS shooter. Students can expect to participate in a short classroom portion Friday morning, to cover MILs, MOA, wind formulas etc. Then we will zero rifles and shoot for the remainder of Friday and spend the night. Students often make dinner over the campfire, then sleep in their tents, trucks or in the cabin. Cook your dinner and enjoy it by the group campfire Friday night. Saturday will be setup with various stations to replicate an actual Long Range rifle competition. There will be awards for the high shooter.
There are food establishments and hotels approximately 25 minutes nearby. (This is basically a camping trip coupled with safe, professional long range rifle instruction by qualified instructors). Space is limited on the firing line, as this class almost always fills up!
Throughout the course, the following topics will be covered:
Proper fundamentals for precision rifle marksmanship
Minutes of Angle (MOA) vs MIL systems (what is better/easier)
Ranging targets with a MIL or MOA reticle
Basic wind formulas (mathematical & field expedient) (MOA & MIL)
Range estimation drills (LRF and other methods)
Positional Shooting (tripods, bipods, partner, V-Tac barricades and tank traps etc.)
Angle shooting procedures / angle shooting out to 300 yards
Many “performance on demand” drills under Par-time restraints
Gear and caliber choices
PDA and various apps for long range engagements
Proper utilization of various scopes, bipods, tripods and rear bags
